They were hired by Duke energy to cut down a large oak in my front yard, they were supposed to leave the excess wood neatly piled up. They ended up leaving my front yard a disaster. They left very large pieces of the trunk that weigh hundreds of pounds in the middle of the yard. They did not stack them neatly. They dropped pieces onto the yard leaving huge marks in the yard. They did not clean up the yard when they were done. I was ok with the stump not being ground out but the mess and the damage to the lawn are inexcusable. Easily the worst tree company I have ever seen in action.Stay far away from this company. Do not hire for anything.

Raleigh NC 27604 This is the third time Burfords Tree (a subcontractor for Duke Energy) has shown up to prune my trees around the power lines. I am so impressed as always! From the initial contact with them informing me of the visit (Teresa) with contact info, to a supervisor pre visit (Timothy) to confirm my wishes regarding the pruning of my 50 year old Japanese maples, to this amazing arborist Jerry H., I could not be happier with the outcome. They all rocked!!! I sincerely hope as a company you are proud of your employees that meet your standards both for power line clearance and also work nicely with homeowners to minimize impact where possible. Shout out to Jerry, with an exceptional pruning job on my two older Japanese maples. Saw lots of branches coming down, so he did due diligence, but after the fact trees looked fine. And another crew made sure branches were chipped, debris raked up, and road blown free of debris. Give these folks a shout-out working in these horrific temperatures, being respectful of property, and trying to be of service within their company contractual constraints. Be kind to them!

They were contracted by Lumbee River EMC to cut trees for new power poles. Not only did they chop down my favorite tree without permission nor notice, but they also parked on top of my septic tank in my front yard, crushing my drain line, and now I can't get anyone to answer the phone to speak with someone about it. Unbelievable.

Contracted by Duke energy to trim around power lines in Clinton, NC. They did a horrible job. They also left a mess that they didn’t fully clean up. One of our pine trees was hacked all to pieces, they cut the middle right out of it and will now die within a year or two. Now I’ll have to take time to cut the rest of the tree down myself. Horrible company.

Destroyed my mail box today 05/15/24 they need to repair it closed today but I will be contacting them tomorrow. Will let you know the outcome My mailbox was replaced by Lumbee River, my issue is if I had been at home I would not have known who damaged mail box

Trees were trimmed on Oct.4th 2023. They were contracted for Duke Energy in my area to cut the limbs around the trees. The day they came they left big ruts in my back yard and a mess everywhere. They came back today Oct.6 to grind up the limbs that were cut. They left a big mess in my yard with big limbs left behind still and some debris. We work hard to keep our yard clean and neat from debris to have some company come and mess it up. Not professional in my opinion
