Wow these guys are awesome for the second time using them. They arrived on time, were very nice, did an amazing job taking down a gigantic tree in our yard. The clean up was great too. At then end of the day you wouldnt have even known they were even there except the tree is gone and sawdust stands in its place lol. Thanks guys! Awesome job again! Recon is our #1 go to company for tree removal! You won’t be disappointed!
Can't say enough about the quality of their work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company for ALLyour tree removal needs. I WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN.
The owner (derrick) is very knowledgeable and very professional. His service was truly first class and competitive pricing. His field crew was respectful and courteous. Would recommend to any residential or commercial customer.
Recon caused nearly $12,000 in damages and ghosted us. This is not a review on the work Recon Tree care completes. This is a review on the actions Recon took, or lack thereof. My goal is to prevent anyone from finding themselves in the situation that my wife and I did while dealing with this company. Our next-door neighbors hired Recon, by our recommendation, for a three-day job to have a large tree taken down. We recommended the company because our positive experience in 2022. My wife and I had been out of town for the first two days and knew they were having the work done. The first day of the job, we got a text message that our driveway had been damaged by one of the workers driving the bucket and teeth of the skid steer into the concrete. Our neighbor spoke with Brittany, Recon’s office manager, and was assured they would fix it. After the second days’ work, my wife and I returned home to find our driveway damaged, entire HVAC system burned, refrigerator burned, other small appliances no longer working, and electrical surges throughout our house. Along with an emergency contractor, we determined that the powerline, specifically the neutral line, had been damaged and disconnected causing our entire house to be ungrounded. This disconnection led to massive voltage fluctuations to our home. Before I blame Recon, a few things are important to know for this circumstance. First, our powerline runs directly under and around the tree that Recon was tasked to take down. Second, there was no inclement weather to have shaken or move the powerline so abrupt to have broken it. And third, Recon typically had the road blocked to complete the work, so it was impossible for any large truck to pass through and hit the line. Recon is the ONLY factor that could have caused the damage. Moreover, our neighbors’ Ring doorbell footage captured the crew’s boom truck knocking into the power line and crew members cutting large limbs that hung from the line proving constant negligence from the workers. The following morning, the third day of Recon’s tree work, I spoke with Brittany and the crew’s foreman to dispute the damage. The foreman acknowledged the driveway, apologized, and even told me the individual who had caused the damage was fired for his negligence. Brittany also assured me that the driveway would be fixed, and she would need to discuss with her boss, who was supposedly on vacation, for a solution on the electrical damages. Four days pass without any contact. I text Brittany for an update. Her response was that her boss was still on vacation but was on his way back. Another two days pass. I text Brittany AGAIN and she says, ‘I actually will be meeting with him this morning!’ I didn’t hear from her again. The following day, instead of calling Brittany again, my wife called the owner of Recon, Derrick, directly. He had NO idea about the damages that were caused and was STILL on vacation in Florida and wouldn’t be returning home until the following week. He told my wife he would ask Brittany what had been going on. Total communication time to this point had been 7 days. Because of the lack of communication, we made an insurance claim on their behalf. Only then did we get a text from Brittany stating that she conducted an ‘investigation’ and completely denied all damage and negligence, even the driveway… We obviously tried calling again, multiple times, for multiple days. No call or text back from Derrick, the owner, and no call or text from Brittany. I understand mistakes, and given the size of the job, would be surprised if the job went flawless, but what I don’t understand is how a local business can completely ignore responsibility. Recon was INTENTIONAL about avoiding us and IGNORED any possible solution and left our family responsible to pay for $11,970 worth of damages their crew caused. Maybe if we were the customer, and not just a past customer that gave a recommendation, we would have this figured out. Please consider our story a warning if you or your neighbors choose Recon Tree Care.
I used Recon back in 2021 for three large trees in my yard, relatively $8,000 worth of work. They completed the work in my own yard as expected with just a few hiccups so I went on to recommend them to my neighbors and friends. Fast forward to 2023 when I had since recommended them to 3 neighbors (2 of which used them for large jobs). They caused nearly $12,000 worth of damage to my neighbor’s yard due to negligence of a power line which caused a surge and ruined their HVAC, refrigerator and many more appliances. In addition, their lack of care when navigating their heavy machinery caused major damage to their driveway. Several attempts were made by my neighbors trying to get response and accountability from the company- including my neighbor having video footage of the incident. My neighbors ended up having to pay out of pocket for the repairs caused by Recon’s negligence. As a small business in a small town I am shocked at the way they handled the situation and am mortified that I put their name out there as a recommendation. Customer service is just as important as the work completed and theirs is majorly LACKING! I will never use Recon again and will warn all others to steer clear!!
The Recon tree team took good care of us. We desperately needed some dead trees removed before they caused damage to our home. The owner came out assessed each tree and helped me understand which ones needed to be removed 1st. On the day of service the team was prompt and the team navigated the huge job with professionalism. I will definitely be using Recon Tree services again soon!
