Jeff was great. We had a tree fall on our shed from a storm, he came out to give an estimate and instead he cut the tree down himself. Would definitely recommend him to everyone!!!!

After interviewing other companies, receiving estimates and based on other factors, I chose Heritage Tree and Arborist Services to cut down two problematic trees and prune two large branches from another. A 2’ diameter, 50’ high red oak was diseased, leaning towards my house and its roots damaged my driveway. An 18” diameter, 50’ high cherry tree was very close to my house, diseased, and overhanging my roof. Two large branches from another oak were overhanging my roof and making my wife nervous. The owner of the company, Jeff Parkhurst, came out, assessed the job and gave his estimate. He is professional, very easy to talk to and offered a few helpful pricing options. Upon request, he provided Certification of Insurance showing, among other things, Workman’s Compensation coverage. No one else I interviewed carried Workman’s Comp. This is important because God forbid, if there is an accident which injures someone, his insurance covers it and there’s less of a chance that the homeowner is sued. He recommended using a bucket truck, to which I absolutely agreed due to safety and work control issues. The other candidates planned on simply climbing the trees which I considered to be a less desirable option. Jeff is a certified arborist, one of very few around here. That certification requires continuing education/training to stay current and he makes sure his employees are trained as well. He has the heart of a teacher and freely answered my many questions about proper tree maintenance and issues with other trees on my property. Dealing with trees is what he does. It’s not his side job or a part of a lawn care/landscaping or handyman repertoire. He did exactly what I asked, plus he cut some other dead/dying limbs we never discussed. The debris was removed, the area was cleaned up and you could barely tell he was ever there. You may find someone to do the job a little cheaper, but if you want to ensure a tree limb doesn’t smash through your roof or puncture your septic tank, hire Jeff Parkhurst.
