I engaged V&V to evaluate how to replace or repair an old brick staircase from our lower level to a lower backyard. Frank brings a wealth of knowledge of many disciplines to the analysis. He first recommended shoring up a deck above the project, and repositioning support posts where the future stairs would connect with our carport to allow a better view and assure code compliance. He did not do this work but made a good recommendation for a third party. I went with Frank although his quote was significantly higher than a less experienced crew. It was good value. Frank and his team were artists who cared deeply about their product. The team spent many months sourcing the limestone from a quarry in Virginia, during a time of Covid shortages. Although Frank quoted the job about a year before the work was actually done, the final price was the quoted price. The stairs are impressive and will add value to the house. In addition to constructing the stairs, the team did a great job in making suggestions, creating new spaces, and carefully relocating and replacing existing landscaping. Frank made recommendations for future plantings. The crew did a great cleanup job. It was awesome to watch Frank providing on site guidance to his crew. He is a great teacher. The team was friendly and responsive. The only negative was that the project got off to a bit of a late start and I believe Frank has the same problem as many companies, not as much crew as he would like to have. You are in expert hands if you select V&V.

On the fence about who to use for your next project? Stop searching and use V&V Land Management. You will not be disappointed! I have used them multiple times at different locations for land clearing and landscape design/installation, culvert installation and repairs (of others work), gravel driveway repairs (of others work) and road building. They do not cut corners and will give you an honest assessment of what needs to be done so that it is completed correctly the first time. Most recently, I worked with Zach on a land clearing project and Charlie on landscape design/installation. I could not have been more pleased with the level of professionalism they afforded us and their positive attitudes while adapting to the multitude of changes as the project progressed. You couldn't ask for a better team working hard for you. I recommend V&V without hesitation!

We couldn’t be more thankful to V&V for not only doing a great job, but also saving us a bundle of money. We had a mudslide below our house two years ago. Although we had the slide stopped by stacking up large boulders to stabilize the slope, some of the boulders on the upper level had started to slide. We also had a steep hill above our driveway where the embankment had developed a big crack and started to slide. For both areas, we were told by other contractors that retaining walls were needed which would have cost tens of thousands of dollars. Frank, the owner of V&V, came out, did an assessment, checked the soil and recommended alternative ways to fix the problems that were not only effective but also very affordable. After the remedial work was completed, Charlie and Curtis of V&V then planted close to two hundred erosion control plants on the hills to control the erosion as well as landscaping. Charlie and Curtis are one of the best workers we have ever met in WNC and we have had a lot of workers in the past. They were professional, dependable, courteous, conscientious and very obliging. They showed up at 8 a.m. every morning and worked diligently throughout the day. V&V is a company that we highly recommend. What we were most impressed with V&V was that they put clients’ benefits before their own. They are honest, reliable, take pride in the work they do, and most important of all, do quality work at a reasonable price which is not something we are accustomed to experiencing . We highly recommend V&V and would use them again and again and again!

We had a landslide at our new home, that was really extensive. Frank was amazing and really did an outstanding job. The finished product is gorgeous and looks so natural. We loved that he used materials from surrounding areas. The project lead, Charlie and his crew, Curtis, Cody and Taylor were exceptional. They were so considerate and went above and beyond. We can not recommend them highly enough. All projects we need done in the future we will definitely use them exclusively.

We used V & V last month for a driveway grading project to improve drainage. I want to give Jared, who did most of the work, a 5. He was conscientious, courteous, & took pride in his work. My rating above is not reflective of his work, which is a 5 star.

A terrible experience. V&V gave us a price to build a sidewalk and retaining wall at our new home. After waiting 5 month's to start the project and 3 days into building the wall, they told us they made a mistake and couldn't do the job for that amount of money. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, so we had them just build the sidewalk. The problem was, that all the gravel they had for the wall, they spread out in the driveway to save from hauling it off. This raised my driveway, and now I am paying someone to regrade and haul off the extra material. They also charged us more to build the sidewalk than the original budget. In addition, Frank told his guys to place the flagstone 11" apart to save money which would have been terrible. I had them place the stone closer together, so it turned out ok. Overall a terrible experience with Frank and V&V. Be careful.
