Small business with exceptional service, as well as pricing. Used James Gaddy a year ago to remove an uprooted fallen tree -- due to excessive rainfall -- in rear lawn (over plants and up to patio wall). Always like to get at least two or three quotes on large jobs, especially not having needed or used tree service since moving to area. Miller Tree Service provided a second quote which was slightly higher but their timing was over 3 weeks away. Because tree was damaging grass and plants, the tree needed prompt removal, which did not concern Miller but Modern was willing to place this work ahead of less pressing jobs and did an outstanding job in one day. This summer, yet another tree is leaning and will soon fall as the root ball is partially out of the ground. Miller came first and gave an estimate which I knew was overpriced. Modern just provided an acceptable estimate. Miller's price is 67% higher than Modern and another 3 weeks away timing.. A no-brainer, go with Modern again. Miller is a large company with lots of expensive equipment and labor overhead. If you have an extremely difficult job (e.g. extremely large tree very close to house, needed a crane, etc), Miller may be the one to use. Before using Miller always get a quote from Modern..

Last Friday another tree company failed to show up for an estimate appointment. I called Modern Tree Surgery and James Gaddy came by the same day for an estimate! Not only that but they came out Monday morning and completed the work which involved removing several large trees, as well as pruning and elevating multiple existing trees. Professional work with fair pricing and excellent customer service!! I would highly recommend Modern Tree Surgery for any project! Thanks Mr. Gaddy!

I just used Modern Tree service to remove some tress and clear out dead wood on others. James Gaddy was extremely professional, timely and reasonable. He was recommended to me by a landscaper and I'm so glad he did! I would highly recommend them!!
