Today was the second time we used Altamont Tree Care. This time they removed a very large (and dead) oak in a fairly sensitive area near our house. Not just a guy with a chainsaw, Alan is very knowledgeable and runs the business with a sense of integrity that will ensure continued success. Alan is a knowledgeable arborist. We have used him on several occasions to prune and shape a number of our trees. He has treated, and is monitoring one of our trees for a disease condition. We have utilized Alan and his crew for monitoring and thinning out dead trees in our wooded area. They clean up the area after they are finished. He and his crew are hard workers. His prices are reasonable and fair. He is our go-to individual with any tree issues or concerns we have. He has always done a good job for us.

Alan and Misty not only take care to research the best practices for each species they treat, but also truly care about the health and esthetics of their clients' properties. At our home in Blairsville over the past three years, they've nipped a Woolly Adelgid infestation in our hemlocks, treated bark beetles threatening a pair of 15-year-old red maples in our front lawn, climbed into and manicured an 80-year-old white oak in one of our flower gardens, pruned cherry and redbud trees in the back yard, removed trees that were unnecessarily shading our side lawn, and transformed our tangled, overgrown vacant lot into a "park" with shapely, well-spaced trees. In a region where so many contractors are poorly trained, under-experienced, or downright dishonest, Altamont is a shining example of knowledge, responsibility, and personable customer relations. I recommend its services without reservation.

One call does it all! Alan is a certified Arborist and came out right away and looked at our Maples, one had already died. He knew immediately what was wrong with them, the dreaded Gloomy Scale, and gave us an honest assessment and explained the treatment plan. Alan and his crew trimmed and cleaned out all the dead wood and crossed branches out from them. He and his crew also took down the dead tree, took a large limb off another tree that was growing into our Leelands and trimmed back a Box Elder that was growing into one of the Maples. Misty came and administered the treatment for the Gloomy Scale. EVERYTHING was cleaned up, put into a chipper and the larger logs hauled away! You would never even know they had been here!
