I had a large maple tree in my front yard pruned on Saturday. The crew was polite, but ultimately I cannot give a high rating due to poor communication, not following the contract, and dropping tree limbs on my roof. Firstly, when scheduling we were told 1-2 weeks out. Which was genuinely fine with me. Except they didn’t tell me when they would be out till the day beforehand and that they would be here on a Saturday. (Which I did not request a Saturday and wonder if that is why I had so many issues - because they came with a skeleton crew on a Saturday.) Secondly, the signed contract stated $100/15 min for a 4 man crew. I was shocked when two men showed up and they had a single flatbed trailer to take the limbs. Had they had a 4 man crew things would’ve moved more efficiently and I would hope that they would’ve tied off branches before letting them drop onto my roof. Additionally, they probably could’ve removed more of the limbs. When I tried confronting the foreman about the fact that they were overcharging me - he simply said they’d call it an even $1000 despite going for 2 hours and 30 min. (Assuming the phrasing of the contract is correct I should’ve been charged $50/15 min for a 2 man crew which would be $600 - as they added 30 min for travel time.) Regarding payment they only accept cash or check which was not made clear to me upon signing the contract. They did want it to be clear they’re willing to commit tax fraud because they’d take $100 less if I gave them $900 cash so they could “pay the guys faster.” Which screams unethical business practices and likely taking advantage of crew members. I cut the check - but mainly because I felt for the men working in the heat and didn’t want anyone coming after me legally as I signed a contract. Because the contract was not carried out as agreed I probably shouldn’t have cut the check at the time in hindsight. They also state they have certified arborists when really they only have one - the owner. So the estimator/foreman felt they could trim all the dead limbs and mistletoe out of my tree in 2 hours. Honestly - it barely looks different and I still see a lot of dead and diseased. Looking at it more carefully now I honestly don’t think it’s salvageable in the long term, but again I do not think their Saturday team was equipped to handle the job. I’ve seen them work before - they usually have hard hats and a shredder. Literally just two dudes who probably didn’t even 100% know what they should be cutting out of the tree. Again - making me feel like they’re being overworked and taken advantage of. I gave the company a chance - I politely requested a call back because the contract was not carried out as promised and because I have to get someone out to take a look at my roof and make sure they didn’t damage it. However, after being falsely promised I would be getting a call today, I never received it. Thus, I leave this review feeling scammed and hoping repairing my less than a year old roof doesn’t cost me a fortune.

This crew did amazing work today. I appreciate their hard work. Very professional and efficient. I was impressed with Morgan’s skill as well as everyone involved. I’ll be having them come back out for some more work soon. If you’re looking for any type of tree/shrub work - This is the company to call. The video is just the bottom 20 feet of a 80ft tree.

These guys did such an incredible job removing a very large & dead tree from our front yard. They were always very professional and responsive and their prices are unbeatable. We are very pleased and absolutely recommend them for anyone's tree removal needs. Thank you guys, again!!!

I’ve used American Tree and Stump Removal twice now, once to remove a dead tree and once to trim away branches from my home. I love that Mr. Michael has both times had the health of my trees in mind and is confidently able to explain what he will do and why. I was told both times that it might take a couple weeks for them to get out to service my yard, but each time they were able to have a crew out within the week, which was awesome. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone in the Fayetteville area.
